I scream! You scream! Who’s ready for Ice Cream!!!!! We will be making ice cream triptychs today for #ArtDateWithMissKate...as well as learning about the prefixes tri- and bi-, seeing a few pieces of art by artist Wayne Thiebaud, and looking at a work of art by SPENCER the cat!!
Oh me! Oh my! This Sweet Treat is MILES HIGH! We will be exploring patterns and lines while looking at one last artwork by Wayne Thiebaud! You will need white paper, pencil, scissors, glue and any colors you choose...OH! AND don’t forget your SWEET TOOTH! I can’t wait to see you for another #ArtDateWithMissKate!
Who’s ready for a learning adventure?! Today starts Passport to Art: Animal Expedition week!!!! #ArtDateWithMissKate will be “traveling” to the Amazon Rainforest, flying on ArtDate Airlines, and taking a look at the magnificent creature the Blue Morph Butterfly! This will inspire our printmaking project today!
Check out this great video It’s Safari time! Today we are taking a walk on the wild side and learning about the lions in Africa! They have some pretty amazing features, one of which will inspire our project today. So gather up your suitcase of supplies for this #ArtDateWithMissKate

Well today’s #ArtDateMissKate we get the chance to step out into the vastness of space and explore! We will be taking a “planet walk”...go pack up a piece of white paper, black paper, scissors, glue, colors, lots of imagination!
What a week! From astronauts to spacewalks and everything in between, #ArtDateWithMissKate has journeyed through the cosmos learning, exploring, and making art! Today we well be making galaxy jars as a little momentous to bring home drone our space trip!
A book! With a hole in it? You betcha! Today starts book week and #ArtDateWithMissKate is exploring the wonderful worlds of fairy tales and fantasies! Before we get started though we need to know the basics of a book, they’re connection to art, and what it takes to make one!
We are bringing the land of Fantasy to life today on #ArtDateWithMissKate! From imaginary worlds to magic powers, we will talk about all things fantasy and how they differ from fairy tales. Then it’s off to the art table to create our own magic potions........AND MAGIC SPELL PAPER!!
Today starts Architecture Week on #ArtDateWithMissKate! And what better way to kick it off than with a seaside sandcastle! There is a ton to learn and lots of fun to be made so grab a paper, pencil, markers/crayons, watercolors if you have them, and let’s get creating!
Did you know the house you love in was made by an architect? Today’s #ArtDateWithMissKate looks at two architects that have had an impact on design...and then we are going to use their inspiration to create our own houses! Birdhouses that is!

Not only are we traveling deep to the bottom of the sea but we’re also doing an experiment to better understand water pressure and how submarines work! So gather up a piece of black paper, white paper, scissors, glue, pencil, and colors and let’s make a splash
